Confrmo checks carbon settlement against its own Veridium node
Confrmo now runs its own Veridium node, so the Confrmo Ledger confirms a carbon credit has settled by checking the chain itself.
What it needed
The Confrmo Ledger certifies Veridium carbon credits. Relying on someone else's website to say a payment has settled would undermine that.
What I built
I set up a Veridium node that Confrmo runs itself. The Ledger now confirms settlement directly from the chain. The node holds no keys, so it cannot move anybody's coins.
How it helped my other work
Veridium carbon credits certified on the Confrmo Ledger are now checked against the chain itself, so the certificate carries the weight of the chain rather than a third party's word.

The work on Confrmo made Veridium stronger: a certificate is only as good as the check behind it.
