VCode Louis-James Davis

Reading VCodes anywhere in the frame

Why the VCode reader now searches the whole camera frame. What I made sure of before letting it look right up to the edges.

What I tried

The original reader looked only at the middle of each frame. I wanted it to find a code anywhere in the picture.

Why I chose differently

Widening the search meant checking every assumption the narrow one had quietly kept true, starting at the edges.

What I chose

I made the reader safe right up to the edge of the image at no measurable cost. Then I tested codes pressed against every edge and half out of frame. Codes at the very edge now read, which the old search never allowed.

The principle

When you widen what software is asked to do, test the edges first.
