Veridium Carbon Louis-James Davis

Veridium Carbon goes live on rules I designed

The Veridium Carbon blockchain went live on the issuance rules I designed, with every new block signed by the network before it is accepted.

What it needed

A register of carbon credits needs a coin whose supply nobody can inflate. It also needs a ledger nobody can quietly add records to.

What I built

I designed how Veridium issues its coin: a hard ceiling on supply, half created at launch, the rest released steadily through mining with a new block every minute. The chain went live in February. Every new block has to carry the network's signature before it is accepted, while anyone can read and check every record.

The principle

For a register of real-world assets, being able to check everything matters more than letting anyone write to it.
