Verus Louis-James Davis

One person, one identity, on every device

How I brought Verus device linking to Android, so someone using a phone and a Mac stays one identity rather than two.

What I tried

Verus on iPhone could link a second device from the start. The first Android version had not got there yet, so a phone and a Mac could look like two different people.

Why I chose differently

One person should be one identity everywhere. The server already supported linking, so Android was the piece to build.

What I chose

I brought linking to Android, compatible with iPhone down to the byte. I put it where people look for it. I also made the linking code testable without a handset, which widened the test suite.

The principle

Check parity feature by feature against the server, not by how the screens look.
