Screenshot protection designed around the owner
Verus keeps messages out of screenshots. Why I designed that protection to fall back to readable rather than hidden.
What I tried
Verus keeps conversations out of screenshots and screen recordings. My first layout of that protection sized itself to its content.
Why I chose differently
Protection that follows its content can end up keeping the owner out of their own messages. I wanted the opposite guarantee.
What I chose
The protected area now always takes its full space. If it ever cannot, it steps back into view. A switch lets the owner turn protection off. I proved it on the phone and the Mac before shipping to both.
The principle
A privacy feature should fall back towards the person it serves, never against them.
