The websites Louis-James Davis

Analytics that waits to be asked

Group websites now load analytics only after a visitor accepts, with declining as easy as accepting and a way to change the choice on every page.

What I tried

Measuring how sites are used matters. The law also requires consent before analytics cookies are set.

Why I chose differently

I chose the strictest reading: rather than loading the tag and asking it to behave, nothing is requested from the analytics provider at all until a visitor says yes.

What I chose

One small plugin governs every analytics tag on a site. It sets consent to denied before any tag runs, holds the tag back, shows equally weighted buttons to accept or decline and keeps a permanent cookie settings link. Each site's cookie policy is generated to match exactly what is set.

The principle

Consent is a gate, not a setting.
